My husband and I are looking into purchasing a Palm Harbor home from someone who has lived in it for 6 years. We have never lived in a modular home before and would like to know if it is possible to remodel the bathroom once it has been constructed. We wanted to take out the tub and put in a shower. Is this possible?
    Thanks.

    Cherie,

We get questions about remodeling all the time, and the answer is yes! Any reputable home builder should be able to do the remodel, but, if possible, you may want to work with a builder that has experience building or renovating modular homes. If the home was built using a standard plan (and sometimes even if it was completely custom), the builder and manufacturer will be able to provide you with detailed blueprints for the home even if the current owner can't. Bring these with you when getting quotes from builders so that they know exactly what they're changing.

People sometimes think that when a modular home hits the market, it should be worth less than a standard site-built home, when in fact the opposite should be true. Modular homes actually generally retain their value better than site-built homes and are less susceptible to moisture-driven rot or mold which can be unseen and nasty surprises to a home buyer!

Yes it is possible to renovate it the only thing required is that you should hire a good architect.
