Anyone familiar with Heritage modular Homes? I own a 1983 version and need to know where serial number might be. Have been told company is now out of business.
Hi David, I'm not sure if maybe you worked with a different Heritage Modular Homes, but there's a builder I know of in Massachusetts that goes by Heritage that was building in the 1980's. David, Following up on this some more after doing some more digging. So every modular home will have a serial number, but it won't be "stamped" on it like you might imagine for a product you buy in the store, or on piece of metal on the outside of your home like a mobile/manufactured home. It is generally printed on the data plate - which is again a bit of a misnomer since it's actually a 8 1/2" x 11" sheet of paper that's often laminated and stuck to one of several places. Every manufacturer puts it in a different place, but some common areas to put a data plate are: Inside kitchen cabinets. Most likely in the area under your sink. Inside a closet. Either in a main hall closet or in the closet in the master bedroom. In the electrical panel box. This is less common nowadays, but since your home was built in the 80's, this is a good place to check. Pretty much anywhere else. I know of one manufacturer that hid it rolled up in the railing of a staircase Let us know where you find it!
