We have lived in a modular home on a walk out basement for almost 21 years. Our home is a Showcase home, which In 1995 was one of the best. (Now Showcase only builds single wide manufactured homes.).
We love our home and over 20 years have made it our own. Our home is very solid and beautiful ,we have had no structual issues, or any major issues. We are downsizing and moving closer to our family and have decided to once again go with modular. We have already purchased our lot in a small town near Grand Rapids MI. Our current home will go on the market in the spring of 2017.
Seems there are so many horror stories Online about nearly all makes of modular homes. We have concerns about the qualit. that exists out there in our price range, which is about 100K, with al the options we desire.
We have found a Redman model that we like very much and will be doing quite a few upgrades. We also considered Commodore, but for the home we like, they are just out of our price range, and also don't offer the house we like with a floor plan for a front garage that would have a laundry room, front entrance. Our lot is onl 96.5 feet wide, so this type of home will best suit our lot, plus we like how it looks. Is Redman a good brand? Do they make a good modular home that will hold up as well as our Showcase home has? We are very concerned about the quality of what we get. We will be retiring and on a fixed income, so will not have a ot of extra dollars to remedy possible problems.
