Modular Homes Under $50,000

First of all, congratulations on making the choice to build modular. With a price point of under $50,000 for your home, going with a modular home will allow you to stretch your budget and get a more for your money. Remember that $50,000 is the budget for only the manufacturing of the home and does not include the cost of land or any other costs required to build the home.

The cheapest home you are likely to find will run around $30,000. This is assuming that you make absolutely no changes to the design at all. With a $30,000 home, you’ll be getting the bare essentials. As your budget creeps up closer to $50,000 though, the picture tends to change. With this increase, you’re now able to look at homes with 1,100 square feet and the options of either more living space or a second or even third bedroom.

BUT. This number only covers the cost of manufacturing the home! You will NOT be able to get a true modular home using a professional builder for under $50,000. If you’re looking for a home that inexpensive, modular is unfortunately probably not a good option for you.

Instead, you could consider a different, currently very trendy type of home – a shipping container home! These homes are created out of new or used shipping containers and can be large, small, or anywhere in between. While they’re not modular homes, they can be good options for people looking to build safe, attractive, and affordable homes.
