Hi, I’m Sarah Kelly

“You need a new roof.”
“Your attic isn’t properly ventilated.”
“That paint on your walls was banned from the market in 1978.”

These are things I say on a regular basis; and no, I’m not a man.

My name is Sarah Kelly, and I’m not afraid to admit I probably know more about homes than your Dad does. (Sorry Dad!)

Ironically, it was actually MY Father who taught me everything I know about real estate. Born and raised in Ohio, there wasn’t much for me to do when I wasn’t at school. So obviously, I spent many hours following my Dad around until he gave me ‘busy work’ to keep me occupied (I became really good at picking up nails; an expert, really.) My Dad owned his own home inspection company which he started in the late 70s. I used to love going with him on his ‘adventures’ as I would call it. He got to climb ladders into attics, mosey around in people’s basements, and sometimes, if I was good, we even got to stop at McDonald’s on the way home. Those were some of my fondest memories growing up. …It’s no surprise when it was time for me to chose a career path, I choosing to enter the real estate business myself.

Family means more to me than anything, so I didn’t want to venture too far away from home. Getting a in BS Real Estate and Economic Development provided me with the opportunity to follow in my Father’s footsteps. Since I graduated, I’ve been working at a home inspection company and I love it. I also obtained my Real Estate License, allowing me to explore other housing options – it was during this time that I became a huge fan of modular homes. Not only are prefab homes affordable, but their construction is as clean and reliable as the houses I saw on my ‘adventures’ growing up. Working in real estate has also allowed me to partake in my favorite pastime; flipping houses.

I find no greater joy than turning a neglected building into a beautiful home for a future family. In fact, I did this for myself! Years ago I bought a decrepit house in Las Vegas (yes, Sin City!) …it is now my favorite vacation home! Actually, it’s not only used for pleasure; I was traveling a lot to Vegas for conferences, so it made sense to have a permanent place to stay.

Speaking of traveling, that’s another one of my favorite past times. I’ve visited 4 of the 7 continents so far. I loved Australia; it’s so gorgeous there. (The plane ride wasn’t so fun though haha!) My husband is the perfect travel companion; we actually met on a cruise! My husband is actually my perfect match; he’s even taught me a thing or two about color and design, as he works in graphic design :)
